For more than 50 years, CERT International has been refining a medical outreach model that brings practical healthcare and the hope of Christ to underserved communities around the world.

Our clinic model allows teams to provide efficient, high-quality care to large numbers of patients, while also creating meaningful opportunities to build relationships and share the Gospel.

Built on Experience

CERT mission clinics are led by experienced US-based team leaders in conjunction with national partners who understand the cultural, medical, and logistical realities of the communities we serve.

Before each trip, our partners help identify:

    • Communities with limited access to healthcare
    • The most pressing medical and dental needs
    • Local churches and ministry partners
    • Safe and strategic clinic locations

This collaborative approach ensures that each outreach is well-organized, culturally sensitive, and impactful.

A Collaborative Clinic Approach

Our clinics are designed around team-based care, where volunteers from many backgrounds work together to serve each patient. Patients typically move through several stations during their visit:

Registration & Welcome

Local volunteers and team members welcome patients, gather basic information, and help guide them through the clinic process.

Triage & Intake

Medical students and trained volunteers assist with basic health history, vital signs, and chief complaints before patients see a provider.

Medical & Dental Care

Licensed providers diagnose and treat patients, focusing on general medical care, infection treatment, pain relief, and health education.

Dental teams often address urgent oral health needs through tooth extractions, infection care, and preventative guidance.

Pharmacy & Eyeglasses

After treatment, patients receive prescribed medications from the clinic pharmacy. Many clinics also distribute reading glasses, which can significantly improve daily life.

Prayer & Ministry

Throughout the clinic, volunteers have opportunities to pray with patients, offer encouragement, and share the love of Christ.

Meeting practical needs often opens doors for meaningful spiritual conversations and ministry.

A Model That Opens Doors

Our proven clinic model allows teams to serve hundreds of patients in a single outreach, meeting urgent healthcare needs while demonstrating the love of Christ in practical ways.

By combining medical care, partnership with local churches, and Gospel-centered ministry, CERT clinics become powerful opportunities to bring healing to the body and hope to the heart.

Strategic Partnerships

One of the strengths of the CERT model is our close partnership with local churches and ministries.

Local partners help us:

    • Identify communities most in need
    • Assist with translation and logistics
    • Continue follow-up ministry after the clinic ends

This ensures that our outreach leads to long-term relationships and continued discipleship.
